  • Leaks suggest "Star Wars Squadrons" will be included in July's PS Plus free games
  • "Virtua Fighter 5" and " Operation Tango" are also allegedly included in PS Plus next month
  • The official announcement from Sony is expected to drop this week

The last day of May is fast approaching, and with it comes the usual official announcement from PlayStation regarding its upcoming free games lineup for July’s PlayStation Plus offering. However, since the end of May is still roughly one week away, fans still have plenty of time to speculate and get a sneak peek at what’s coming next.

Instead of the usual Reddit thread guesses and speculations, June’s free PS Plus games reportedly have already been leaked online, according to Comicbook. Spanish website Areajugones said that the free PS Plus games for June will include three titles, including a big triple-A “Star Wars” game.

The games in question are “Star Wars: Squadrons,” “Virtua Fighter 5” and “Operation: Tango.” However, as with all leaks, the validity of these claims is questionable and they’re best taken with a grain of salt.

If these prove to be true, then this would mark another month of stellar PS Plus games.

“Star Wars: Squadrons” is a spinoff of the beloved sci-fi franchise that focuses on space-based dogfights instead of the all-out combined arms warfare in “Battlefront 2.” The game was well-received by the gaming community amid minor bugs and other technical issues, and it can be played with or without a VR headset.

For fighting game fans, “Virtua Fighter 5” is a great title with solid combat mechanics that have stood the test of time. This is the latest entry to Sega’s “Virtua Fighter” series that carries over everything that made the past games great, along with a few new changes and additions.

“Operation: Tango” may not be on everyone’s radar, but this interesting two-player co-op game actually bagged Best Multiplayer Game in last year’s Gamescon. This spy-themed adventure will have two players work together to take down an evil organization through wits, espionage and communication.

The game will officially release on June 1, making it a day-one PS Plus release. “Operation: Tango” will also be released for PC and Xbox on the same date with cross-play enabled.

PlayStation Plus fans are in for another great month if these leaks prove to be accurate. However, until the official announcement from Sony arrives, fans will have to wait with bated breath.
