PS4 Midnight Launch Store Locations: Sony Announces Full List Of PlayStation 4 Events

The PlayStation 4, aka the PS4, is set to launch on Nov. 15, and Sony is in quite the celebratory mood. In addition to daily PS4, game footage and feature updates, the company has announced a full list of participating midnight launch stores with special events planned for New York City and San Francisco.

According to Sony, Best Buy stores across America will participate in PS4 midnight launch events. The electronics retail giant set up a dedicated page for the event.

Best Buy advises individuals to show up early. It will process pre-orders and have a limited supply of PS4s available to purchase. According to a statement from Best Buy, most of their stores "will create two separate lines: one for pre-order customers and one for customers looking to purchase a console from the available limited quantities. Some stores may need to operate differently; however, all of our stores will be utilizing signage to manage their lines along with employee assistance to ensure everyone is aware of the process throughout the day. Stores will begin processing pre-order customers prior to processing any customers looking to purchase a console.”

For those who have pre-ordered the next-gen system, Best Buy asks that they have a government-issued photo ID, the credit or debit card that was used to purchase the PS4, and the order number. Best Buy’s PS4 midnight launch page includes a list of participating stores for each state.

Select Meijer stores will be open at midnight, and you can see a full list here. Select Wal-Mart locations will also open at midnight as well. Sony recommends that PS4 customers choose the nearest store and for them to call ahead of time. GameStop stores will also be open at midnight, and store locations can be found here.

Sony Stores will participate in midnight launch events. Gamers who have pre-ordered a PS4 can pick up a PS4 package beginning on Nov. 13 and line up at the store beginning at 10 p.m. on Nov. 14. Sony Stores will have a limited supply of PS4 bundles, and individuals can line up at 10 p.m. to receive a wristband that allows for the purchase of one bundle. The majority of Sony Stores will be open at midnight, the full list of which can be found here.

In addition to the PS4 midnight launch stores, Sony has announced two launch events, one in San Francisco and one in New York City. The San Francisco event will be held at GameStop, 830 Market St., and it will begin at 6 p.m. local time. The event will include playable demos, food and giveaways. Sony has announced the release of 444 PS4s that will be sold at the Standard Hotel in New York City. Chances are people are already in line for their chance to buy the new console.
