KEY POINTS

- Since the PS5 has no definite launch date yet, don't expect these premium variants to be available until then, and priced considerably higher
Not feeling the white color of the coming PlayStation 5? Thinking of buying the console in considerably gaudier colors?
When the PlayStation 5 console made its debut in late June, not everyone was enamored with its white exterior. Perhaps because many had gotten used to the black that permeated the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Worry not, though, as GameSpot reports three new colors for the PlayStation 5 will become available through a third-party retailer from the U.K. The colors will be 24-karat gold, platinum, and 18-karat rose gold (if you’re rich but not that rich).
Truly Exquisite is selling the PlayStation 5 console, as well as the wireless headset and DualSense controller, with these color variants. A bit flashy and ostentatious to be sure, but your PS5 will definitely stand out even in a dark room with this new coating.
You can register your interest in the system on the store page and admire the system in all its gaudy glory. With the release of the PS5 slated for later this year but no definitive date set from Sony as of yet, it is unlikely that these shiny options will be available before the standard units are sold.
Yes, the console wars are heating up with the latest revelation of games coming to the Xbox Series X, but can any Xbox Series X console say that it is covered in gold? Since the PS5 is also a considerably big console, you'll be getting quite a bit of gold with this model, notes GameSpot.
The PlayStation 5 will have an AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz, 16GB of GDDR6 memory, and a custom RDNA 2 AMD GPU that puts out 10.28 TFLOPs of processing power. Although it will be backwards compatible with almost all PS4 games, Sony has yet to confirm if that will be the case for earlier generations of their consoles.
No definite release date nor price point for the PlayStation 5 has been revealed by Sony thus far, but you can expect that these gold, platinum, and rose gold variants will be priced considerably higher.
