  • Sony Direct and Walmart may soon have more PS5 units for sale
  • Sony Direct may opt for a simple public queue instead of the usual direct email invites
  • Walmart may have less PS5 units for sale this time due to dwindling inventories

More new PS5 units are coming this week to a few select stores in the U.S., with Walmart and Sony Direct potentially getting a new stock of the gaming consoles as early as tomorrow.

Both of these stores are reportedly gearing up for another wave of PS5 buyers as their game console inventories are slowly being replenished, according Tech Radar’s Matt Swider. Their extensive network of insider contacts have provided the greater community with accurate restock predictions so far, and many hopeful PS5 buyers hope that this week’s predictions aren’t any different from the previous ones.

Sony Direct restocked on Tuesday, but it can potentially have another wave of sales before the week ends. The store replenished its inventory twice last week, so customers can expect another restock by April 22, as per Swider. He added that Sony Direct may sell PS5 units this week using a public queue instead of direct email invites and lotteries like last week.

The store is expected to have both Disc and Digital versions of the PS5 if the restock date proves to be accurate. Orders will be online-only and buyers will have to act fast, as the previous stock sold out almost immediately.

On the other hand, Walmart is once again expected to restock this Thursday based on its regular Thursday restock pattern. Swider believes the store could have less units available, however, since last week’s restock was shorter than usual, with only two 20-minute waves of sales instead of the usual 12. This could mean that Walmart’s PS5 stocks are currently on the lighter side, and the store might take another one-month break soon in order to replenish its inventory for better long-term sales.

Gamers may have to wait even longer than usual before they can get their very own PS5 as stores are still struggling to meet the high demand of customers.
