  • Microsoft and Sony not yet revealed all next generation features of upcoming gaming consoles
  • Both PS5 and the Xbox Series X promise to deliver high-resolution gaming and enhanced audio
  • New audio technology for PS5 and Xbox Series X was launched; promises to enhance audio capability

Next-generation gaming consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X could get a massive audio boost with a new audio technology introduced by Marantz. The New-York-founded-but-now-Japan-based audio company recently introduced a new set of AV receivers that are PS5 and Xbox Series X-friendly. With the progress in technology, it appears that big names in the audio industry are now catching on this next-generation bug.

Microsoft and Sony both promised that its upcoming gaming consoles support high-resolution 4K and 8K gaming. The gaming giants also promised that these consoles would deliver better audio capabilities. Gamers who would like to get the best out of the audio and visual capabilities of PS5 and Xbox Series X could try the range of products being offered by one of the world’s audio tech giant Marantz.

Recently, Marantz launched a new series of AV receivers and amps that are next-generation gaming consoles friendly. The newly announced products support 8K and can handle 120 Hz gaming at 4K due to HDMI 2.1 connectivity. Apart from this, the new AV receivers also support Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

Marantz’s latest AV product comes with three amplifiers and one receiver; all are equipped to support next-generation gaming consoles. Interestingly, the product also supports Quick Media Switching (QMS). This enables users to switch quickly between different media sources without the annoying screen blackouts.

However, Sony earlier said that to get the most out of the 3D audio technology that the PS5 has, users, need to pair it with a dedicated headphone like the Pulse 3D. In other words, Sony’s new audio technology on the PS5 might not be applied to Marantz’s latest AV range. Both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 promise to deliver virtually zero loading times, powerful performance, ray-tracing graphics, fast frame rates and high-resolution gaming.

Microsoft and Sony already unveiled their next-generation gaming consoles. Both companies have not yet revealed all the features of their upcoming consoles. The industry is also waiting for these gaming giants to announce the retail prices, specific release dates, and pre-order details of the gaming consoles. Xbox Series X and PS5 are slated to arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020.
