PSG Rumors: Neymar To Be Sold By Paris Saint-Germain, Could Return To Barcelona
KEY POINTS
- PSG to sell Neymar
- PSG wants to keep Kylian Mbappe
- Neymar could return to Barcelona
Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly looking at the possibility of selling Neymar in the summer as they look to acquire sufficient funds to sign other top-caliber footballers.
According to a report published on Le10sport Wednesday, PSG's sporting director Leonardo is already scheming his plans for the summer as he eyes the Brazilian star, being the club's most lucrative asset, to be the sacrificial lamb in his list of potential signings.
The financial aspect of the possible move is seen as the stumbling block from putting a deal to fruition. That said, PSG could take a page off Liverpool's book and emulate their move-in selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona that allowed them to sign Van Dijk and Alisson.
Neymar's worth is estimated at $200 million which is more than enough to sign the likes of Dybala, Koulibaly and Kante, who are said to be included in Leonardo's list. The potential sell, which is possible to Barcelona per reports, would not entail many complications for the French club with regards to complying with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.
Apart from Neymar, Thiago Silva and Kurzawa are also expected to leave the club after this season.
A rumor from the previous week about the possible sale of Neymar has already surfaced as PSG is allegedly firm on keeping Kylian Mbappe instead. A report also added that a return to Barcelona is indeed imminent for the 28-year-old Olympic Gold Medalist as the Spanish Club is said to be willing to part ways with Antoine Griezmann just to get him back.
A report from Forbes revealed that the driving force behind the impending sell is the alleged falling out between Neymar and Leonardo "over the mishandling of his most recent knock," adding that a return at Camp Nou is "closer than ever" as the Spanish club admits signing the Brazilian remains their ‘number one objective’.
