Is 'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 New On Memorial Day Weekend? Find Out If We Have To Wait For Episode 7, 'The Gift'
"Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 6, "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken," ended with one of the most controversial scenes of the series. As every viewer waits to find out how the Sansa Stark storyline will play out, there's another question that needs to be answered. Will there be a new "Game of Thrones" episode on Memorial Day weekend?
Warning: "Game of Thrones" Season 5 spoilers ahead.
In "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 6, "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken," viewers caught up with Dorne, Arya, King's Landing as well as Tyrion and Jorah's journey. In Dorne, the Sand Snakes and Jaime, with Bronn, both launched their attempts to kidnap Myrcella Baratheon. For the Sand Snakes, it was an attempt to start a war with the Lannisters. For Jaime, it was an attempt to rescue his daughter and get her back to King's Landing. Areo Hotah put an end to the fight between the two factions. Arya took another step in her apprenticeship as a Faceless Man. Tyrion and Jorah were captured by slavers after they washed ashore without any means of transport following their encounter with the Stone Men. Cersei had another victory in her feud with the Tyrells after Margaery was thrown into a cell, joining her brother Ser Loras.
But the thing everyone is still talking about is Sansa Stark's rape scene on her wedding night. The scene drew criticism from critics and fans, many arguing that the show has never handled the subject well and that it did not serve any function for Sansa or Ramsay, her new husband. Some were concerned about the scene, but hope the series is setting up a storyline where Sansa becomes the Queen of the North and kills Ramsay and defeats the Boltons.
Luckily, fans will not have to wait another week to view "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 7, "The Gift." There will be a new episode Sunday, which means you'll have something to look forward to during the long Memorial Day weekend of barbecues and sunshine.
