The wait is almost over for the "Serial"-obsessed. Last week, the podcast left off with Adnan annoyed at host's Sarah Koenig's description of him as a "nice guy," but what is her next step in the investigation of the murder of Hae Min Lee? "Next time, on 'Serial,'" indeed.

"Serial" has steadily grown beyond a weekly listening experience as fans eagerly await even a shred of new evidence or credible theory that crops up on Reddit or other sites devoted to going down the rabbit hole to find out more about Adnan, Jay and Hae and a murder in Baltimore. The popularity of "Serial" has even spawned a spoof video.

This video of people talking about their obsession with "Serial" is also very accurate:

While we don't have synopsis for "The Opposite of the Prosecution," it would make sense for "Serial" to investigate Adnan's defense and how his attorney built a case that would prove his innocence. Last week's episode made it really difficult to believe Adnan was innocent; that phone call to Nisha in the afternoon, when Jay was supposed to have the phone, was especially damning. Nisha is only friends with Adnan, and it's a two-minute conversation that he has trouble explaining to Koenig when she questions him throughout the episode.

"To me, the explanation to that is that-- for whatever reason he pushed the number, maybe he didn’t know it was on, and it picks up, because when the answering machine picks up a call, it bills it," says Adnan to Koenig. But Nisha testified during the trial that she did not have an answering machine.

After Koenig asks him about "The Nisha Call," Adnan asks why she became interested in the case. She ultimately settles on him as the subject of interest as he seems to be an unlikely murderer. Previous episodes have looked at the case against Adnan, the timeline of the murder and Jay's testimony, so it could naturally follow that Adnan's defense would be part of Koenig's investigation. That's the general assumption on Reddit's subthread for the podcast. Another possibility could be the experts Koenig brings in to build the case for Adnan's innocence.

Luckily, we won't have to wait much longer to get our "Serial" fix, but to pass the time, why not check out our recap and infographic of the "Serial" up to episode or this Daily Dot list of conspiracy theories pulled from Reddit. Is it Thursday yet?
