  • Sports brand Puma creates "Active Gaming Footwear" for gamers
  • The socks will have three "modes"
  • The Puma "Active Gaming Footwear" sells for £80 in the United Kingdom and $160 in Australia

From shoes to concept chairs, the world of esports is slowly making its way to mainstream fashion that even conventional sports brands are jumping in the bandwagon.

While there's no harm in being fashionable or comfortable while playing your favorite games, brands like Adidas and Puma are taking it one step higher in outfitting some of the best names in esports. The former recently collaborated with professional streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and came up with a Ninja-themed Nite Jogger.

Puma on the other hand came up with a first-of-its-kind “gaming socks.” That's right, folks, they made socks solely for gaming. The “Active Gaming Footwear” is, according to Polygon, is designed for “indoor and in-arena use.” At the same time, it will provide the wearer with “seamless comfort, support and grip so gamers can adapt to different gaming modes.”

It may sound far-fetched, but Puma's take on a rather unique garment promises three “modes”: medial wrap-up grip in SEEK mode; Lateral wrap-up support in ATTACK mode and Heel wrap-up stability in CRUISE and DEFENSE mode.

It's not clear whether Puma's “Active Gaming Footwear” will indeed have these modes, but IGN thinks that it's more of a marketing strategy, but it pointed that the socks will have rubber grips too keep gamers from sliding.

A pair costs £80 in the United Kingdom and $160 in Australia. By the time it reached the U.S., the Puma Active Gaming Footwear will mark up to around $105.
