Pumpkin Shannon Reveals Second Baby’s Gender As Mama June Gets Arrested

“Mama June: Road To Redemption” came back with an all-new episode this week on We TV, and fans were treated with two big surprises as Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon finally learned the gender of her baby while Mama June got arrested and jailed amid her drug possession case.

In Friday’s episode, Pumpkin, 21, was quickly forgiven by Mama June Shannon, 41, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 15, in the aftermath of the explosive family fight that transpired in the previous installment. The trio was back to being calm and loving to each other after ironing out the issue on why Pumpkin chose to keep her second pregnancy a secret from them.

As things were quickly settled, Pumpkin moved forward by having a medical checkup, where she apparently found out the gender of her second baby. And to announce the news to her family, she decided to bake a gender-reveal cake for her family with the help of her first child, Ella Grace.

Lauryn did share a clip of how she and her 3-year-old daughter prepared the cake on her Instagram. In the video, Ella joyfully exclaimed that she’s going to be a big sister after Pumpkin told her about the pregnancy. Ella then made her mom laugh when she suggested a name for her sibling, saying they should name the baby “Banana Joe.”

Although Pumpkin did not take Ella’s suggestion seriously, the toddler might have already leaked to viewers the gender of the baby at that point. Later on in the show, as everyone in the family gathered together, they cut the cake and discovered that the inside was colored blue.

Honey Boo Boo was in shock after knowing that her sister is having a baby boy. The gender of the baby was indeed a surprise for everyone as they were used to having girls in the family. Pumpkin shared in her confessional that she’s so excited to welcome her baby boy but noted that things will certainly “get a lot crazier” now that she and her husband, Josh Efird, are becoming parents to two kids.

Also featured in the show’s latest episode was another major shocker, and it involved Mama June getting jailed. But the situation is not what everyone thought it was going to be when We TV dropped the teaser for the episode weeks ago.

Mama June did get arrested and jailed, but it was all part of Geno’s plan to make her realize how hard it was to be in prison after seeing that she’s been downplaying the idea of being incarcerated and considering it as something not to be worried about.

Geno carried out the plan well as he first told Mama June that they were going on a romantic getaway. However, it was too late for her to realize that they were not going to the beach but back to Atlanta where she was quickly arrested by police officers and brought to jail. She was even made to wear an orange jumpsuit by the officers.

Though Mama June now has gotten a taste of what it’s like to be imprisoned, she has yet to receive the verdict on her drug possession case with Geno. If she gets convicted, she could be facing two years, while Geno could be facing 10.
