Pumpkin Shannon Slammed For Promoting Mama June’s Weight Loss Drink

Fans were not pleased when Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon promoted the same weight loss product that her mom, June “Mama June” Shannon, advertised online.

Pumpkin, 22, took to Instagram Saturday to share a video of herself promoting the Boombod weight loss shot drink. In the clip, the reality star talked about the product while reading the label on its box. She also emptied one sachet into a cup of water and took a small sip of the drink before ending the recording.

“Perfect time for @boombod’s shots to be back in my routine. These help cut down on those winter cravings, get the motivation up, and all the flavors I’ve tried are super tasty,” she wrote in the caption.

However, several of her followers did not buy her promotion. Many of them questioned her decision to promote the same weight loss drink that Mama June advertised even though the product did not show positive results on the latter.

“Just the way you read it shows you don’t use it. If [you did], you wouldn’t have to refer to the box the whole time,” one user pointed out.

“Please don’t act like your mom,” another wrote.

“Oh boo-boo you know you didn’t lose a bit of weight thanks to that product … Stop promoting that useless s—t. I’m surprised someone hasn’t sued them yet for false advertisement,” a third user commented.

When Mama June officially returned to Instagram early this month, she was criticized for coming back just to promote the weight loss drink. A number called her out for endorsing it again even though she hadn’t seen positive results despite using it for years.

Another one of Mama June’s daughters, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 25, also recently received flak for recommending the weight loss drink to her fans and crediting it for her weight loss even though she had liposuction and other surgeries to lose weight.

Nevertheless, Pumpkin’s post also generated some compliments and positive comments from other followers. Some even said she looked great in her promotional clip.

“Girl!! You look amazing,” one wrote.

“You are really looking great, Pumpkin,” another commented.

Mama June has two other daughters, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, 27, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 16.
