  • Pumpkin slammed Mama June Shannon for being insincere ahead of their reunion on their reality show
  • She also revealed that her younger sister Alana attended therapy in their mom’s absence
  • The 21-year-old TV personality said she hopes to see a better version of their mom during their reunion

Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon seemingly has had enough of June “Mama June” Shannon’s antics and blatantly called out her own mother in a new interview ahead of the reunion episode on their reality show, “Mama June: Road to Redemption.”

In an exclusive interview with TooFab released Wednesday, Pumpkin, 21, slammed her 41-year-old mom for allegedly being “insincere” when she told her that she appreciates her efforts to step up and take care of her 15-year-old sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson in their mother’s absence.

“I don't think that she still fully understands the problems she left behind for me, because having to take care of Alana, I feel like she's appreciative of it, but I feel like the way that she says she's appreciative of it ... I want it to be a little more sincere than that,” Pumpkin said.

Mama June left her kids in 2019 to be with her boyfriend Geno Doak, 45. The two were arrested in March of that year on drug-related charges. Geno was also charged on suspicion of domestic violence at the time. Following the arrest, the two worked on themselves by entering rehab.

While Mama June was away, Pumpkin was given legal guardianship over her younger sister. Aside from taking care of Honey Boo Boo, Pumpkin also had to do mommy duties for her own daughter, Ella Grace, whom she welcomed with husband Joshua Efird, 24, on Dec. 8, 2017.

In the interview, Pumpkin admitted that it was a very tough time for her because she also had to deal with marriage problems along the way. The situation basically caused an uproar in their lives, and Mama June somehow saw it but wasn’t there for them.

“It's very tough because somebody who was supposed to be there and supposed to be supportive, it just doesn't seem that way. I've done all these things and I've matured as a woman and now I gotta take the consequences and I wasn't even the addict,” she added.

In a separate interview with The Sun published Thursday, Pumpkin also dropped a bombshell when she revealed that she and her sister attended therapy in their mother’s absence in order for them to be better and move forward as a family unit.

“She’s definitely in a better place than she was a year ago. We’ve really started working on ourselves attending therapy and being more conversational as a family all together,” she said of her younger sibling, who previously starred on “Toddlers & Tiaras.”

“I’ve encouraged her ever since I’ve had custody of her to get good grades in school and go to whatever college she wants to go to. There aren’t a lot of people in our family who have done that. I know Alana is very much capable of it,” she added.

Pumpkin’s revelations come ahead of their reunion with Mama June, who recently disclosed on their new reality show her battle with a life-threatening condition. This would be their first sit-down conversation with their estranged mom since the latter completed her rehab stint and stayed sober for more than a year.

Pumpkin has high expectations for their face-to-face reunion as she wants Mama June to prove to them personally that she’s really sober. She said she wants to see a new version of her mom — one who does not lie about even the little things.

“Mama June: Road To Redemption” airs Fridays at 9 p.m. EDT on We TV.
