Punk'd will return to MTV on March 29 at 10 p.m. ET. The pranks are more elaborate this time around, and the victims' reactions are fantastically dramatic.
The series, originally hosted by Ashton Kutcher, follows superstar celebrities as they pull ingenious pranks on other superstar celebrities. MTV reports that this year, for the first time in the series' history, the curtain will be pulled back, giving viewers an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes to pull off these elaborate pranks.
Some gems this season: singer Miley Cyrus tricks her own boyfriend, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. Professional prankster Bam Margera makes Tyler, The Creator think he's responsible for an explosion that sets man on fire, prompting the rapper/producer to take a running leap into the back of a pickup truck. Justin Bieber convinces Taylor Swift that she's detonated an explosion that nearly drowns an entire wedding party. Watch all the trailers here.
This season, the show will have a new host every week. On March 16, MTV released the names of several. They include Hayden Panettiere, Miley Cyrus, Nick Cannon, Lucy Hale, Mac Miller, Heather Morris, Kellan Lutz, Bam Margera, Dax Shepard, Justin Bieber and Tyler, The Creator.
Victims include Chloë Moretz, Tyler Posey, Demi Lovato, Zac Efron, Dianna Agron, Rob Drydek, Sean Kingston, Ron Artest, Lauren Conrad, Shenae Grimes, Ian Harding, Emma Roberts, Cody Simpson, and Snooki and Ronnie from Jersey Shore.
Punk'd originally aired in 2003 and continued until 2007. Kutcher, who once acted as host and executive producer, will still be involved in behind-the-scenes production.
