Ryan and Alex are reuniting in both the future and the present on ABC’s “Quantico.” The former lovers will be forced to work together in the present day timeline as a part of Alex’s training in Season 1, episode 20. However, it doesn’t seem like they’ll be joining forces in the future. They might be fighting against each other.

“With only a few weeks until graduation, the NATS are dispatched to various field offices where Alex and Ryan find themselves working a case together,” the synopsis reveals. Alex (Priyanka Chopra) has had a hard time trusting Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) since he returned to Quantico as her teacher. Will they be able to put aside their bickering to solve this case?

The future is when things get interesting. “Alex doesn’t know who to trust when she discovers new information about the man she loves,” the summary teases. Since Ryan is her most consistent love interest, it doesn’t seem like a stretch to assume he is the man in question. Plus, the photos from episode 20, titled “Drive,” put Ryan in a compromising position. He has a gun pointed at Alex. Does he think she is the terrorist?

The two will face off in the FBI offices, but it isn’t clear what Alex is doing. Is she working to stop the terrorist? Or is she working for the mysterious voice again? Alex she promised Hannah (Eliza Coupe) that she wouldn’t drag Ryan into the terrorist drama, but she might have to. However, that doesn’t mean Ryan will believe her.

He knows that Alex was the last to see Natalie (Anabelle Acosta) before she died. Executive producer Joshua Safran teased that the discovery makes Ryan question his ex. “I think he’s even more suspicious of her, it’s safe to say,” Safran told Entertainment Weekly. “In the very next episode, you will see just how suspicious.”

Elsewhere, there might be a little romance for Shelby (Johanna Braddy) and Caleb (Graham Rogers). The two worked together to help Alex in the last episode, and they’ll be spending even more time together. “Meanwhile, in the future, Shelby and Caleb’s relationship takes a turn,” the synopsis says. Caleb needs to deal with his addiction, so a relationship probably shouldn’t be his first priority. However, it would be good for him to have someone who cares about him enough to put him in rehab.
