Queen Elizabeth ‘Cross’ Whenever Royal Fans Do This To Her ‘Moving Carpet’-Like Dogs
Queen Elizabeth reportedly gets cross and becomes very upset when royal fans do one thing to her beloved corgis.
When Princess Diana was still alive, she referred to Her Majesty’s corgis as “moving carpets.” In the book “The Firm,” royal author Penny Junor said that the 93-year-old monarch hates it when royal fans tread her adorable pets.
“Horses are the Queen’s one indulgence, the one interest in her life on which she spends serious money. He also loved dogs, the Queen’s other great love in life… She breeds and trains gun dogs – all registered at the Kennel Club with the prefix Sandringham, which is where she has kennels… The breeding and training of gun dogs is one of her great passions and, as with horses, something about which she is a genuine expert,” she said.
Junor said that the mom of four has produced several Field Dog Champions over the years, and the Queen’s gun dogs are known in the shooting circles as one of the top breeds in the United Kingdom. But the Queen is best known for her corgis.
The first time that Her Majesty encountered the breed was when she was just a teenager. At that time, King George VI gave the Queen a Corgi as a birthday present.
“It was her father who introduced the family to corgis, and who gave the Queen her first on her 18th birthday, from which most of her subsequent corgis were descended. The only thing that makes her cross is when a visitor treads on one of her dogs,” Junor said.
Today, the Queen is no longer breeding Corgis. It was previously revealed that Her Majesty doesn’t want her dogs to live even after he has passed away. This is because she wants to be able to see her pets until they get older.
The Queen’s grandson, Prince Harry, also shared a funny story about his grandmother’s dogs two years ago. He said that the Queen’s corgis bark when they see him, but they quickly warmed up to Meghan Markle.
