Queen Elizabeth II reportedly did special favors for Meghan Markle that she didn’t do for Kate Middleton.

According to Express, the monarch has made special effort to welcome Prince Harry’s wife. In fact, she invited Markle to join her in her favorite home, Balmoral Castle, any day now. The Queen is reportedly eagerly awaiting for the Duchess of Sussex and wants her to feel right at home.

Also, Queen Elizabeth II immediately invited Markle to join her in an official outing just weeks after her royal wedding to Prince Harry. The invitation was a huge honor for the Duchess of Sussex because the Duchess of Cambridge waited for months after she married Prince William before she scored a solo outing with Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot in April 2011. However, she was only invited to join Queen Elizabeth II in an official engagement in 2012. Middleton waited for months what Queen Elizabeth II gave to Markle in weeks.

Queen Elizabeth II also invited Markle to the Queens Young Leaders reception after their joined trip to Cheshire. According to Francesca Specter, a lifestyle reporter for Daily Express, the invitation was another honor that the Queen extended to Markle that Middleton never had.

The program was launched in 2014 to honor Her Majesty’s service to the Commonwealth with a global network of 53 countries. Although a number of royals were invited to the event, the Duchess of Cambridge had never been to it.

Markle is also the first royal fiancée who was allowed to spend Christmas with the royals in Scotland. Traditionally, the royals do not invite those who are not official members of the family. In fact, unlike Markle, Middleton was only able to join them on holidays after she married Prince William.

However, Queen Elizabeth II also made an exception for Middleton that she didn’t do for Markle. Queen Elizabeth II issued a Letters Patent making Prince William and Middleton’s children prince and princesses. The Queen didn’t do the same to Markle, otherwise, Archie, would have been a prince just like his cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
