Queen Elizabeth Didn't Reject Beyoncé, Jay-Z's Request To Film In The Palace
Queen Elizabeth II didn't prevent Beyoncé and Jay-Z from filming in the palace.
There is no truth to reports claiming that the Queen did not allow Beyoncé and Jay-Z to get inside the palace, according to Gossip Cop. The publication spoke with a Buckingham Palace spokesperson who laughed off the claims and said that the rumors were not true.
National Enquirer previously published a report with the headline that read: "Palace Slams Gate on Beyoncé." The tabloid added that the couple has "met their match" in the Queen and noted that the "Lemonade" singer and the "Empire State of Mind" rapper's "Ape [expletive]" video was filmed at the Louvre. A so-called "spy" was quoted as saying, "Jay and Beyoncé are on a mission to shoot their music videos at some of the world's most famous locations."
Unfortunately, their request to film at the palace was declined. "But when they put in a request to shoot at Buckingham Palace, it was rejected by the queen," the unidentified source said. "Beyoncé might be pop royalty, but she got a firm 'no' on access to Buckingham Palace."
"But we're Hollywood royalty!" Beyoncé said in a word bubble. To which the Queen allegedly responded with, "Girl, you're just a cheap imitation," in another word bubble.
According to the rumor-debunking site, there is no proof supporting the narrative. In addition, the palace has rules where "requests must be received at least one month before the preferred date of filming" and they never receive an application from Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Gossip Cop also insisted the tabloid's history of spreading fake news.
In related news, Queen Elizabeth II beat Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton in the fashion world. The three royals were named as among Britain's best dressed of 2018. However, the Tatler dubbed Her Majesty as the "ultimate power dresser."
There is actually no real competition among the trio. In fact, the Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge are among Markle's closest friends at the time.
"What's characterized these months are the two great relationships that she has struck up with the Queen and with Catherine," Robert Lacey, a historical consultant for "The Crown," told People. "They seem to be her closest friends and partners in the official set-up."
