Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry reportedly got into a brief feud just before the latter tied the knot with Meghan Markle two years ago.

In an article she wrote for Vanity Fair, royal author Katie Nicholl said that there was an episode wherein Prince Harry got into an argument with the Queen’s senior aides over Markle’s wedding tiara.

The incident resulted in the Queen becoming so cross with her grandson that she was forced to call him in for a rare dressing down.

According to sources, Markle had her eyes set on wearing a particular type of tiara, but the Queen refused to lend it to her. The monarch’s decision did not sit well with Prince Harry and Markle especially since they have the mantra, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”

In an article for The Sun, editor Dan Wooton revealed how the Queen reminded Prince Harry that his future wife needs to think about how she speaks to staff members and be careful to follow family protocols.

“Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me,” the Queen allegedly said.

Meanwhile, this wasn’t the only time that the Queen interfered with Prince Harry. Nicholl said that Her Majesty was taken aback when Prince Harry suggested that they should live in a suite of rooms at Windsor Castle as their official residence.

“The Sussexes were politely but firmly told this would not be possible because Windsor is the Queen’s home. The Queen was also apparently upset not to be at Archie’s christening because the couple – who had kept the plans under wraps – hadn’t given her diary team sufficient advance notice,” Nicholl said.

And just recently, the Queen and Prince Harry reportedly got into another misunderstanding after the former banned the latter and his wife from using the Sussex Royal brand. Shortly after, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement where they seemingly threw shade at the monarch.
