  • Queen Elizabeth could be blaming herself for Prince Andrew's exit

Queen Elizabeth could heartbreakingly be blaming herself for what has been going on within the royal family.

Last year, Prince Andrew announced that he will no longer be a working royal amid his sexual abuse scandal. Weeks later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they will be stepping back from their royal duties.

After attending the Queen’s crisis talks in Sandringham, it was decided that it is better for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to quit. Her Majesty also stripped the royal couple off their HRH titles.

According to Express, it is possible for the Queen to be blaming herself because she hasn’t always been easy on herself. In the 1990s, Her Majesty faced the annus horribilis, which saw an entire year of misfortune for the royal family.

In 1992, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage ended and so did Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. A huge fire also destroyed 115 rooms at Windsor Castle.

According to royal historian Sarah Gristwood, the Queen at that time blamed herself for the series of unfortunate events.

“It was like slap, slap, slap across the face of the Royal Family, it just didn’t stop. The Queen herself is reported to have said to a friend, ‘Where did I go wrong?’” she told Daily Mail.

As such, is it possible for the Queen to be thinking the same thing behind closed doors. Following Prince Harry and Markle’s Megxit, it has been business as usual for the monarch.

She has been spotted attending church services with some members of the royal family. The Queen was also supposed to attend a royal engagement last month, but she had to cancel at the last minute due to her colds.

A palace source revealed that the Queen was recovering from her colds at that time. But some royal fans were convinced that Her Majesty’s health is deteriorating. After all, she’s turning 94 this year.
