Queen Elizabeth II Goes Horse Riding With Prince Edward; Where’s Prince Philip?

Queen Elizabeth II recently went horse riding with her youngest son Prince Edward.

The 92-year-old was photographed riding her horse around Windsor right beside her trusted female royal aide. Her Majesty is an all-black ensemble while her royal aide was wearing a brown attire.

Prince Edward was also on the Windsor Grounds while his mom was there. Unlike the Queen, Prince Edward’s horse galloped around the premises. The Queen rode her horse at a more relaxed and steadier pace. The dad of two also donned a full riding gear at the time of his sighting.

Two years ago, Camilla Parker Bowles gushed over the fact that Her Majesty can still ride her horses at the age of 90. Now that she’s 92, the monarch is still able to enjoy one of her favorite past times.

Earlier this month, she was also photographed riding her pony and was joined by Prince Philip. The Queen’s adorable horse, Carltonlima Emma also had a red poppy on her head to mark the start of Remembrance week.

Prince Philip, on the other hand, rode two black horses in the fields. He was joined by two of his female staff. Prince Philip wore gloves, a tweed hat, and blanket throughout his ride. The 97-year-old Duke of Edinburgh has always had a passion for riding horses.

During a previous interview, he said (via Daily Mail), “I have no intention of giving up while I have a team of willing ponies.”

Prince Philip first took up carriage driving in 1971 when he retired from playing polo, thinking that it was the perfect activity for someone in the “middle age.” By 1973, he became suitably proficient in horse riding that he decided to take on the sport competitively. Prince Philip represented Britain at several European and World Championships.

In 2010, Prince Philip got involved in a horse riding accident after his ponies bolted and his vehicle hit a stump tree.
