Queen Elizabeth II Had To Re-Record Her Christmas Speech For This Reason
Queen Elizabeth II found herself in an awkward situation last year when she was forced to re-record her Christmas speech.
Her Majesty has been dubbed as “One-take Windsor” because she is able to record her speeches perfectly in one take. But this changed last year after a bird started chirping while the Queen was recording at the Buckingham Palace.
In the documentary “Queen of the World,” the monarch is seen laughing at the sound of a bird singing. The crew asked the Queen to redo her speech, and she happily obliged after asking if she had to do it again from the top or from the second half of the page. The crew told the Queen that she had to do it again from the start.
“Queen of the World” will feature several other moments starring the 92-year-old Queen, as well as the other members of the royal family. For instance, Prince Harry will reveal that he is just like everyone else who panics at the sight of his own grandmother.
While talking to the Buckingham Palace staff, the Duke of Sussex asked, “Have you bumped into the Queen yet? Not yet? If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor, don’t panic. I know you will. We all do.”
Meghan Markle will also be heavily featured in the HBO documentary. In the teaser released last weekend, the Duchess of Sussex is seen talking about the secrets of her wedding dress. She and Prince Harry will also talk about their upcoming royal tour in Australia next month.
But the teasers for the documentary have not shown Kate Middleton. It is unclear if the Duchess of Cambridge won’t be featured in it at all. It is possible that the clips were recorded while Middleton was pregnant with Prince Louis or at the time of her maternity leave post her son’s birth.
A source told People that it’s most likely because she was still on maternity leave at the time of the filming.
