Queen Elizabeth II Isn’t Feuding With Prince Charles Over British Royal Throne
Queen Elizabeth II and her eldest son, Prince Charles, were recently said to be at odds over her plans for the future of the British monarchy, but a new report claims the allegations of bad blood within the Windsor clan is untrue.
Life & Style Magazine caused a stir among fans of the royal family this week by printing a story claiming the 91-year-old reigning monarch was considering naming Prince William the next king of England instead of Charles, Prince of Wales, who is next in line to the throne. However, a palace insider has since informed Gossip Cop, which is famous for blasting rumors about the royals, that the latest rumors are “false.”
The article stated that Queen Elizabeth II wants Prince William, her 35-year-old grandson and second in the line of succession, and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, “to come king and queen when she dies” and hopes Charles will “just accept her decision.”
The publication went on to state that Prince Charles, 69, was “fighting for his birthright” to rule with one unnamed insider stating, “There is no way Charles is going to give up the throne after waiting his entire life to take it.”
Life & Style didn’t stop there. The magazine also published claims that Prince William felt “torn” between his family members.
While Kensington Palace doesn’t appear to have directly shut down the report, Gossip Cop states an palace insider has confirmed to them that the article is fabricated. “Prince William will not be king before Prince Charles. There will be no skipping of generations,” wrote the site.
The British royal family has been the subject of many rumors recently. In October, the magazine reported there was a feud between the queen and Kate Middleton, stating the expectant Duchess upset her the monarch by wanting to “lessen her duties” in favor of motherhood. Later that same month, the magazine reported Catherine, who is due to welcome her and Prince William’s third child this spring, was expecting identical twins. Despite Kensington Palace denying the report, the twin rumors persisted.
