Queen Elizabeth II Wants Royal Children ‘Away From Limelight’ For This Reason
Queen Elizabeth II wants the young members of the royal family to stay away from the limelight as much as possible.
Ken Wharfe, Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, told People that the Queen has a huge impact on how royal parents raise their children. For instance, the monarch inspired Prince William and Kate Middleton to wait until Prince George is old enough to tell him that he will one day become king.
“The Queen doesn’t like too much, too early. Her belief is that they are children and should stay out of the limelight. George will know exactly who he is, and William and Kate will want to make sure his moment of entering royal glory is kept away as long as possible,” he said.
During a 2016 interview with BBC, Prince William said that he wants his children to have a normal life for as long as possible.
“There’ll be a time and place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world. But right now it’s just a case of keeping a secure, stable environment around him and showing him as much love as I can as a father,” he said.
Last year, Prince George also started going to Thomas’s Battersea. While there, he is referred to by everyone as George and not as a prince.
“Our aim for him, as well as for all of our pupils, is to provide a safe and secure and happy environment where he feels supported by a kind and loving community. That’s something we will be trying to achieve for him. There won’t be any special treatment at all. In fact, what his parents would like for him, as any parent would like for their child, is they have a wonderful, fulfilling, and private childhood in a place which is secure,” said Ben Thomas, the former headmaster at the school.
Prince George is currently third in line to the throne of succession. He is lagging behind his grandfather, Prince Charles, and dad Prince William.
