Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton have a similar incurable sickness.

According to Claire Anderson of Express, the Queen and Duchess of Cambridge both suffer from motion sickness and can’t escape this at royal events. The report came after Middleton appeared “moody” following a carriage-drawn ride at Trooping the Colour.

Queen Elizabeth II recommended certain medication to her granddaughter-in-law. However, effective medication can make people drowsy.

“The truth is the Duchess of Cambridge gets very seasick and doesn't enjoy the rocking motion of carriages,” an insider told Sunday Mirror.

“Worrying she may be ill on such an important occasion as Trooping the Colour added to her stress. Protocol meant she had no choice but to go by state carriage.”

Last year, Queen Elizabeth II also admitted that her 1953 coronation was uncomfortable. She described the two-hour journey “horrible” and admitted that the sickness “only sprung on leather and not very comfortable” rides.

“Motion sickness is down to mixed messages coming from your ears and eyes,” Dr. Qadeer Arshad from Imperial College London explained.

“The most effective drug makes you drowsy so wouldn't be suitable for royals before a state occasion.”

He added that in the future there would be a more suitable cure for motion sickness because they are developing a technique using electricity to stimulate parts of the brain to ease the symptoms.

Last week, Queen Elizabeth, Middleton and Prince William were spotted at the opening day of Royal Ascot. They were joined by Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander.

The Queen looked elegant in her blue dress coat. However, she was photographed waiting alone. Footage shows Her Majesty turning around to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who appeared distracted before walking in a different direction.

On the same day, Prince William and Middleton were photographed sharing an umbrella. Many netizens felt that the picture of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was reminiscent of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s special moment during the couple’s visit to Dubbo. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t make it to Royal Ascot that day.
