Queen Elizabeth II has made a public appearance after a report falsely claimed she had died after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

The 95-year-old monarch held two virtual meetings with foreign ambassadors at Windsor Castle this week. Her royal engagements happened nine days after testing positive for the novel coronavirus and just days after she became a victim of a death hoax.

On Tuesday, Queen Elizabeth II received His Excellency Mr. Carles Jordana Madero, who presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his Letters of Credence as Principality of Andorra ambassador to the Court of St. James's. She also received His Excellency Mr. Kedella Younous Hamidi, who presented his Letters of Credence as ambassador from the Republic of Chad to the Court of St. James's, People reported.

During the virtual meetings, the monarch looked well in her bright green dress. She also donned her signature pearl necklace.

The Royal Family shared snaps of the virtual meetings on its verified social media account. Many were happy that the Queen was doing well.

"Glad to see that Her Majesty is recovering well! God Save the Queen," one wrote.

"So happy to see Her Majesty again," another added with multiple red heart emojis.

"Wonderful to see HMTQ again!" a different royal supporter commented.

"So glad to see our wonderful Queen again. Thank goodness she has recovered from covid. God Save The Queen," another user wrote.

The palace announced the Queen's COVID-19 diagnosis last week, saying she was only experiencing "mild cold-like symptoms." Last Wednesday, the Queen resumed her royal duties by attending the weekly meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson. But she canceled her two virtual meetings the following day due to ongoing symptoms.

Despite the update from Buckingham Palace about the Queen resuming her royal duties, a news outlet alleged that the Queen was already dead. Hollywood Unlocked published "exclusive news" claiming the Queen passed away last Tuesday. Its founder Jason Lee doubled down on the report and wrote on Twitter, "We don’t post lies and I always stand by my sources. Waiting for an official statement from the palace. " He also refused to retract the story.

On Thursday, Lee apologized and deleted the original report. The outlet published a second report citing 10 reasons they believed the Queen had already died and issued an apology at the bottom of the report.

"Although I've never been wrong when breaking a story, because this involves The Queen, this is one time I would want to be," Lee wrote Thursday afternoon. "And based on Wednesday's report from the Palace, I can say my sources got this wrong and I sincerely apologize to The Queen and the Royal Family."
