Queen Elizabeth May Abdicate This Year But Not Because Of Charles, William
Queen Elizabeth II is expected to abdicate sometime this year but it won’t be because of Prince Charles or Prince William.
Harry Aitkenhead, a spokesperson for bookmakers Coral, said that Her Majesty turning 93 years old and having another addition to her family could consider stepping down from the throne.
“We think that the Queen just might start to be thinking about stepping aside now as another year goes by and another new arrival to the family comes. We’ve cut the odds on it happening to just 3-1,” he told Express.
Meanwhile, Aitkenhead also weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby’s name and said that Elizabeth is still one of the top choices among punters at 5-1.
“Every time a royal baby arrives, we see plenty of royal punters get their bets on for the name. It’s Elizabeth that dominates the market, with plenty of Coral customers placing their wages on the Duke and Duchess to pay tribute to the Queen,” he said.
As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Markle has already given birth. Earlier this year, she told royal fans that she is scheduled to give birth sometime at the end of April or the beginning of May.
However, she and Prince Harry also announced earlier this month that the birth of Baby Sussex will be kept private until after they have celebrated as a family. And since no one knows if she has already given birth, royal fans are also unaware if she has a baby boy or a baby girl and what the baby’s name is.
Diana was another top choice for a baby girl’s name since it was the moniker of Prince Harry’s late mother. Myka Meier, a royal etiquette expert, told The Sun that Markle may opt to give her baby a unique African middle name since the country is close to her and Prince Harry’s hearts.
