Queen Elizabeth Might Have Banned Meghan Markle From Using Princess Diana’s Jewelry
Queen Elizabeth II is rumored to have banned Meghan Markle from using Princess Diana’s jewelry.
Anthony Blair, a journalist for Daily Star, said that Her Majesty is believed to have banned Markle from wearing jewelry from the Royal Collection. There are rumors suggesting that Markle even spoke to Prince William about the monarch’s decision to prevent her from using the iconic pieces of jewelry.
The claims appear to be surprising because Her Majesty has always allowed Kate Middleton to wear pieces that were previously owned by her and Princess Diana.
Sources close to the royal family allegedly said that the Queen’s decision to ban Markle from wearing the jewelry stemmed from the Duchess of Sussex’s behavior in recent months. The row will most likely spark more tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry.
“Aspects of Meghan’s behavior – including before the royal wedding – caused resentment with forces within Buckingham Palace. This is a surprising situation that has been going on behind the scenes over the past few months and has caused tension and upset, especially for Harry,” an unnamed source said.
The insider added that it is at the discretion of the Queen and her trusted advisers which items in the royal collection she wants to loan out and to whom. If she decides to not lend Markle the jewelry then the Duchess of Sussex cannot do anything about it.
“The Queen herself was not impressed with some of Meghan’s demands, especially as a new member of the royal family. As a result, Buckingham Palace has decided that not all items from the Queen’s royal collection will be opened up to Meghan,” the source added.
But this decision may spark more tensions between Markle and Middleton. However, it is important to note that the two female royals’ position in the royal family is not the same. Middleton may be given more privileges by Her Majesty because she will become Queen one day.
