New rumors about Queen Elizabeth are claiming that she is set to step down from the throne at age 95 to give way to her eldest son and heir, Prince Charles.

But a source recently told Vanity Fair that this wouldn’t be the case. Even though Her Majesty is already 93 years old, she has not been showing any sign of retirement or of handing over her role to the Prince of Wales.

A spokesperson for Prince William and Prince Harry’s dad also said the same thing.

“There are no plans for a transition of responsibilities at age 95 or any other age,” the royal insider said.

Two years ago, royal expert Robert Jobson told Daily Mail that the monarch is thinking about making Prince Charles Regent on her 95th birthday. As Prince Regent, Prince Charles would have the powers of the monarch without holding the official title of King just yet.

“I understand the Queen has given the matter considerable thought and believes that, if she is still alive at 95, she will seriously consider passing the reign to Charles. Her Majesty is mindful of her age and wants to make sure when the time comes, the transition of the Crown is seamless,” Jobson said.

However, this is unlikely to happen. Even though Prince Charles was instrumental in handling Prince Andrew’s recent scandal as a “Shadow King,” it is still unlikely for the Queen to slow down from her royal duties until she is able to serve the nation.

A source told Daily Mail that even with Prince Andrew’s scandal, the royal family is still driven by the Queen. And even though there are rumors that there will be big changes coming up due to Prince Andrew, no such thing will happen. The royal family will continue to be driven by Her Majesty until the day she dies. This proves that she won’t be handing over her role to Prince Charles.
