Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip Dying At The Same Time Could Result In This
Several things will happen in the event that Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II would die at the same time. Even though this may be close to impossible, it could still happen because both royals are already old.
On the online forum site Quora, royal fans shared their thoughts about the Duke of Edinburgh and Her Majesty dying at the exact same time. Raf Young, a resident of the United Kingdom, said that in terms of the monarchy, nothing will change when the two senior royal die at the same time.
This is because Prince Philip isn’t in the line of succession so his death would not have a direct impact on the monarchy. Regardless if he dies before the Queen or even after, Prince Charles would still be the one to sit on the throne and not him.
In social terms, the public would most definitely be devastated when they find out that Prince Philip and the Queen had died. Young said that there would also be some people who will be happy if the royals would die at the same time because this would mean that they do not have to live without each other.
Kenny Roche second Young’s thoughts by saying that the world will descend into utter chaos during the death of the royal couple. Giles Martin said that in terms of the royal and noble titles, Prince Charles would be crowned as King and Camilla Parker Bowles will be named Queen Consort.
“William will become Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay and will almost certainly become Prince of Wales. He will continue to be Duke of Cambridge, so in England and Wales he could be referred to as Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge,” he said.
Mark Harrison said that there could be an even bigger funeral since both royals died at the same time.
“But constitutionally, it doesn’t make a difference which order they die in or indeed whether they die together,” he said.
