Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip’s Biggest, Most Public Fights Revisited On 72nd Wedding Anniversary

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have been married for 72 years. And even though their union has been successful, it cannot be said that they never got into fights.

In fact, the royal couple had a handful of big and very public fights throughout their lengthy marriage. In 1952, Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh embarked on their first tour of Australia.

While reporters were standing outside the royal couple’s chalet, they spotted Prince Philip storming out of the room. The Queen followed him shortly ever and she was visibly enraged.

The Queen was heard shouting at her husband, and she also hurled a tennis racket at him. When she realized that reporters saw what had happened, she apologized.

“I’m sorry for that little interlude but, as you know, it happens in every marriage. Now, what would you like me to do?” she told them.

Decades later, Her Majesty became upset with Prince Philip once again after he played a cruel prank on of his wife’s Corgis. The dad of four hid one of the Queen’s dogs in the cupboard in an attempt to make fun of Her Majesty.

“Philip hid a corgi in a desk cupboard and when the Queen asked him where it was, he said he didn’t know. But then the dog whined after hearing the Queen’s voice, so Philip let it out and it ran to her,” a royal insider told Express.

Following the prank, the Queen reportedly urged Prince Philip to stop showing off to their guests before storming out of the room.

Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams dubbed Prince Philip and the Queen’s marriage as truly remarkable.

“The partnership between the Queen and the longest serving royal Consort in our history is unique indeed. We know from their speeches on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1997, that the Duke is the Queen’s ‘strength and stay’ and that he believes she has ‘tolerance in abundance,’” he said.
