Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana Look ‘Unhappy, Distant’ During Prince Harry’s Christening
Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana once posed for a photograph during Prince Harry’s christening but ended up looking a bit uncomfortable.
The snap, which was uploaded on Instagram by a royal fan, shows the late Princess of Wales sitting on a sofa beside Her Majesty. Princess Diana is clad in her navy-blue long-sleeved dress with matching hat, which she paired with her pearls.
Princess Diana has an awkward smile on her face, which suggests that she wasn’t feeling very comfortable while the photo was being taken. She is also carrying Prince Harry on her lap on his christening day.
Sitting in between Princess Diana and the monarch is Prince William, who is wearing a blue and white collared top and blue shorts. The young Duke of Cambridge is leaning towards Her Majesty, but the Queen keeps both of her hands on her lap instead of holding her grandson.
The Queen also has a serious look on her face. She isn’t smiling in the photo, and she appears to be very distant from Princess Diana. She is also wearing a blue and black attire with a matching hat of the same color.
At the far end of the photo beside Princess Diana is Prince Charles. He is wearing his signature suit and tie, and he is positioned on the sofa’s armrest. He is the only person in the photo who is smiling from ear to ear. Prince Charles’ right arm is also placed carefully behind Princess Diana.
The Queen’s photo with the Wales family was compared with her photo taken four years ago at Princess Charlotte’s christening. In the snap, the 93-year-old monarch is also sitting on a sofa but she has a huge smile on her face. She is also wearing a pink ensemble instead of blue.
Her Majesty is sitting beside Kate Middleton, who is carrying Princess Charlotte on her lap. In between Middleton and Prince William is their eldest son, Prince George, whose feet are raised on top of the sofa. Behind them are Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Michael, Carole, and Pippa Middleton.
