Queen Elizabeth, if nothing else, is a dedicated woman -- even if it means she has to suffer.

Over the years the 93-year-old monarch has taken time off to have minor procedures done, according to Express, but this time she's pushing through any pain and refusing to get surgery. The British publication reported that it's the Queen's knee that is bothering her now, which also happened to be bothering her last year.

"She was talking to friends at the Chelsea Flower Show and said her knees were playing up," A Palace source revealed in 2018. "But she is reluctant to have an op due to the time it would take to recover. She is incredibly brave."

The insider continued, "People from her and Philip’s generation battle through problems and carry on. And Her Majesty doesn’t like to cause any fuss."

In addition to not wanting to cause a fuss, Queen Elizabeth likely feels that this is not exactly the best time to take a step back from her duties. It was just a few weeks ago that television host, Jeremy Vine, urged her to "screw protocol" and speak out on Brexit.

"The country is 52-48 on Brexit but where are you?" Vine said during his talk show. "Your Majesty, please, tell us what to do. Please, don’t wait another day."
