Queen Elizabeth II was stunning on her recent outing.

The monarch has reportedly officially begun her summer holiday in Balmoral.

Queen Elizabeth II was spotted on her first day on vacation in her favorite home in Scotland. She was stunning in her weather-appropriate baby blue outfit.

In the photos shared by New Idea, the Queen paired her dress with a matching hat. She also wore black gloves, black shoes and accessorized with a black handbag.

As part of tradition, the Queen was greeted at Balmoral Castle by the Balaklava Company, which is part of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. The monarch is often joined by other members of the royal family in Balmoral. Last year, she was joined by Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Last Sunday, the Queen was spotted in Scotland attending a church service. She was gorgeous in her red ensemble with a matching red hat.

Queen Elizabeth II was accompanied by another female in the vehicle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expected to be in Scotland, too. The monarch reportedly invited Meghan Markle to spend her birthday in Balmoral because Her Majesty wanted to have a “quiet chat” with Prince Harry’s wife.

Queen Elizabeth II loves to spend her summer holidays in Balmoral. According to royal author Juliet Rieden, when the monarch is there, she loves doing the “washing up.”

“This is where she loves to be, this is holiday time for the Queen. She always said this is where she feels most herself and feels most free,” Rieden told Nine News. “When they are out having their barbecues, which they love to do out in the grounds of Balmoral – it’s a massive estate, the most beautiful grounds – where they literally set up a barbecue. And afterward, the Queen does the washing up.”

Aside from this, the Queen reportedly enjoys the “good gossip” about her staff. The Queen usually brings an entourage of maids, footmen, butlers, pages and chefs during her three-month stay in Scotland. When they are there, she allows them to do whatever they want.

The staff reportedly “enjoy their holiday flings, of different kinds, each according to his or her taste, and much to the Queen’s fascination.” The Queen does not express any disapproval but a “lively interest” in their romantic comings and goings.
