  • Queen Elizabeth had braces decades ago
  • The Queen thinks getting wires on the teeth is worth it
  • Other members of the royal family also had braces when they were kids

Queen Elizabeth just shared a surprising trivia when she was still very young.

This week, Her Majesty met with a group of children that were getting fitted for braces at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. While speaking with 10-year-old Ilia Aristovich, the Queen said that she also had wires a long time ago.

“I had wires. Luckily, it was a long time ago. I think it’s worth it in the end,” she said.

Other members of the royal family also had braces when they were younger like Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.

In 2014, Daily Mail revealed that Prince William underwent cosmetic surgery after he lost a tooth at a society wedding. The publication claimed that Prince William’s tooth got knocked out while he was fooling around with his good friend, Tom Inskip.

“William was dancing into the small hours when Tom knocked the tooth out on the dancefloor. William was joking that if Kate went into labor that night, he’d have to smile for the cameras with a missing tooth,” a source said.

While speaking with Express, dentists from The Implant Center shared which tooth they think Prince William had fixed. They said that it is possible that it was his upper front tooth because its color changed.

“It looks to me as if these teeth have been either crowned or veneered. If the UR1 was indeed knocked out/avulsed, it is probable that the UR1 is an implant,” they said.

Meanwhile, the Queen also made headlines this week after it was reported that she has banned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from using the Sussex Royal brand.

Rebecca English, a royal correspondent for Daily Mail, said that the palace officials agreed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shouldn’t be allowed to use “royal” in their branding after their bombshell exit. This means that the couple’s Instagram handle might change in the coming days.
