Queen Elizabeth will be returning to her royal duties this week. The 93-year-old monarch spent a couple of months in Balmoral for her annual summer vacation.

While there, Her Majesty took part in a number of activities together with some members of the royal family. She reportedly went horse riding with her “favorite” granddaughter, Lady Louise Windsor, and her youngest son, Prince Edward.

Weeks ago, Express claimed that the Queen forged a special connection with two of her youngest grandchildren this past summer because of their kind personalities and outstanding abilities. Her Majesty also bonded with Prince Edward and Sophie’s son, James, Viscount Severn.

“The Queen loves the fact that Louise and James relish their time at Balmoral, and she has become particularly close to Louise, who seems to have become her favorite grandchild, closely followed by James,” a source said.

While in Balmoral, the Queen also hung out with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children. The Cambridges were photographed arriving in the Queen’s vacation home after taking a commercial flight to Scotland.

Prior to the arrival of Prince William, Middleton, and their kids, rumors swirled that Her Majesty didn’t invite them to Balmoral this year so that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could spend time with her. There have been ongoing rumors suggesting that the Cambridges are feuding with the Sussexes.

A source told Vanity Fair in August that the Queen asked Prince William and Middleton to stay elsewhere while Prince Harry and Markle are in Balmoral. However, this report was proven to be incorrect. It was the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who didn’t make it to Balmoral this past summer.

The Queen was also photographed with Prince Charles and Camilla when they attended the Braemar Gathering. Her Majesty also attended church service with her eldest son and daughter-in-law a handful of times.

Her Majesty also bonded with Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson during the early part of their summer vacation. But the former couple left shortly before Prince Philip arrived in Balmoral.
