Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite vacation hope has been said to be Balmoral. And every summer, members of the royal family flock to the property to bond with each other.

But according to a royal expert, things are not all fun and games in Balmoral. In fact, the property holds a heartbreaking secret. During his interview on Yahoo’s “The Royal Box,” royal editor Duncan Larcombe said that tons of events happened in Balmoral.

“This is a place where some of the biggest events to affect the Royal Family have broken, whilst they’ve been there in this hideout,” he said.

For instance, Sarah Ferguson was in Balmoral with her two daughters and Prince Andrew when photos of her with business tycoon John Bryan made headlines. In the snaps, Bryan was sucking Fergie’s toes.

The royal expert said that he couldn’t imagine what Ferguson must have felt after she realized that members of the royal family already knew what happened between him and Bryan.

When Princess Diana was still alive, she also lied about enjoying her time in Balmoral. In fact, the late royal’s time there was dubbed as a disaster. In the book “The Diana Chronicles,” royal author Tina Brown said that the Princess of Wales especially disliked the intractable routine in Balmoral.

But even though the vacation home houses some heartbreaking stories, today’s royals still head to the Queen’s home every year. In fact, Ferguson stayed in Balmoral for a few days before Prince Philip arrived for his vacation with Her Majesty.

And it has also been reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton have also arrived in Balmoral with their children. Before arriving in the castle, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first went on a vacation with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the Cambridge’s private trip, but reports swirled that the royals took a commercial flight from Norwich to Aberdeen.
