Queen Elizabeth II’s best heir is neither Prince William nor Prince Charles, according to some netizens.

Express carried out a poll on Aug. 11 asking the Brits who their favorite member of the royal family is. It turned out that Princess Anne is more popular than Prince Charles.

One hundred fifty-eight readers chose Princess Anne over the Princess of Wales. Prince Charles only got 76 votes. The same poll asked who would make the best monarch and Prince Anne wasn’t in the options.

A number of netizens reacted and said that the Princess Royal should have been there suggesting that they prefer Princess Anne over Prince Charles and Prince William to rule after Queen Elizabeth II.

“Try adding Princess Anne and see that she is very popular,” one netizen wrote.

“How I wish the Princess Royal was the next in line,” one netizen wrote.

A different user said that there is no other royal more like Queen Elizabeth II than Princess Anne. Another royal fan said that Princess Anne is the hardest working royal. True to it, the Princess Royal takes on more royal engagements compared to the rest of the members of the Firm.

In 2017, Princess Anne was named the busiest royal after making a total of 455 appearances at charity events, dinners, receptions and other engagements in the country. She also attended 85 events abroad.

In 2018, she was again named the hardest working royal with over 180 outings. She was involved in over 300 charities, organizations and military regiments.

Royal expert Marlene Koenig believes that that the Princess Royal would be a “grounded heir to the throne.”

“She is a take no prisoner type of person with a strong personality,” Koenig said about Princess Anne.

“She’d not as ‘artsy’ as her older brother. She has strong charitable ethics like her brother, but a very different personality.”

In related news, a hilarious clip of Prince William taken during Trooping the Colour in 1987 has resurfaced. The Duke of Cambridge was only about 5 years old at the time and couldn’t stop himself from playing while they were standing on the balcony.

He acted as if he was flying a plane. Princess Anne leaned down and told him something. The little Duke of Cambridge stopped and saluted for a few seconds. But then, he continued playing and showed his action moves by punching and smashing the air which netizens found adorable and hilarious at the same time.
