Queen Rania And King Abdullah II Of Jordan Celebrate 23rd Wedding Anniversary, Release Exclusive Picture
Queen Rania and her husband King Abdullah II of Jordan were pictured taking a stroll in the garden of their palace in Amman. The royal couple celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary with a new picture on Friday. The couple looked very much in love as they walked hand-in-hand.
The picture was released exclusively to People by the couple’s office. Unlike Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip or the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, who never holds hands in public, Rania and Abdullah are never shy to show their love for each other.
To the 45-year-old Jordanian queen, Abdullah is someone whose “smile that stole my heart” and “and still does to this day.” She and the then prince were married in 1993. In 2011, Rania told People in an interview: “I might have looked like a serene bride in the photos, but that’s because for the journey there, I was largely immobile.”
She recounted that when her brother-in-law, Prince Faisal, came to pick her up in a vintage car, its ceiling was so low and her hair was so high that it jammed her head and she had a stiff neck.
The stylish mom-of-four celebrated her 45th birthday in September with her personal photographer compiling an e-book of never-before-seen pictures of the Jordanian royal. The personal pictures were shared exclusively with Hello magazine. She is among one of the first royals to have set up her own Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Rania keeps her followers regularly updated with her charity work and glimpses from her personal life, her husband and kids. Last year the couple celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary with family as Rania shared a picture of her and husband sharing a light moment. She received a huge bouquet of flowers as gift from her husband in 2015.
