A Queens woman, mother of six children, suffered a critical head injury and slipped into a coma for several days after her partner allegedly shoved her in front of a moving car and then tried to run away with their infant child.

The incident happened Friday. Police said Jorge Lazo, 31, punched his girlfriend Ayda Mayancela, 33, in her face and then pushed her in front of a Honda CRV going north on 108th St. and Roosevelt Ave, WPIX reported.

Mayancela suffered two fractures, one at the back of the skull and another at the front of her head, putting her in a coma for several days.

Now, the woman is looking at a year-long recovery after the horrific incident. She remained in hospital while Lazo remained at large as of Sunday, the NY Daily News reported.

After the crash, Lazo tried to play the incident off as an accident, the victim’s sister, Jenny Saquipulla, claimed. “He talked to my dad. He said he did push her, and that he doesn’t care what the cops see. He said it was an accident,” Saquipulla was quoted as saying by the outlet.

Mayancela had four surgeries and has a tube in her skull to drain accumulating liquid. Currently, she is stable, can move her hand, but can answer questions with head nods, said her sister Saquipulla.

“It feels like I can’t wake up from this dream,” the victim’s other sister, Blanca Chavez, told the Daily News. “She was unconscious. She was bleeding really bad. Her mouth, her nose,” she added.

According to Saquipulla, after the incident, while the victim was at the hospital, Lazo went to the Queens residence, which he shared with Mayancela and her family, and tried to take the couple’s 4-month-old son with him. Mayancela second oldest son was present at the house and did not let Lazo take the infant.

“They always have misunderstandings. They fight, he leaves and comes back a day or two later. He goes out drinking, living a free life.” Saquipulla said. She alleged that Lazo was part of a gang and went by the nickname, “Spider.”

The Daily News cited police sources as saying that Mayancela might be gang-affiliated too, though it wasn’t clear if she was linked through her relationship with Lazo.

As the victim remains in hospital, the members of the NYPD’s Community Affairs Bureau helped the family out by buying them food and other essential items for the kids.
