The Las Vegas Raiders made one of the biggest offseason additions by trading for Davante Adams. With the start of the 2022 NFL season two weeks away, the star wide receiver is already raising eyebrows with his speed and skills.

The Raiders and New England Patriots participated in joint practices Tuesday and Wednesday. Adams has been the talk of those practices, catching just about everything that starting quarterback Derek Carr has thrown his way.

On Tuesday, Adams beat Patriots cornerback Jalen Mills on three different occasions, including a 30-yard touchdown pass, according to The Athletic. The 29-year-old continued to have success Wednesday, scoring a few touchdowns against one of the league's top defenses from a season ago.

"There are some things that we did really well today," Carr told reporters after Tuesday's practice. "And there are some things when we turn the film on, we'll be like, 'Oh, wow.' Plays that we were excited about that were maybe close to not being so good. One thing that I believe in that [head coach Josh McDaniels] keeps talking about is not getting caught up in where we're at but getting caught up in where we're going and keep constantly trying to get better."

While he appears to be at full fitness, Adams hasn't played in any of the Raiders' three preseason games. Las Vegas concludes the preseason with a game against the Patriots on Friday night.

In his final season with the Green Bay Packers, Adams set career highs with 123 receptions for 1,553 yards. Two years ago, Adams led the NFL with 18 touchdown receptions and 98.1 receiving yards per game.

The Raiders made the playoffs last season for just the second time since losing in the 2003 Super Bowl. In what's considered to be the NFL's most competitive division, Las Vegas has the worst betting odds to finish in first place.

If Adams can help improve the Raiders' offense, Las Vegas has a chance to turn into a legitimate AFC contender. The Raiders ranked 11th in total offense last season. Carr threw for a career-high 4,804 yards.

With Adams, receiver Hunter Renfrow and tight end Darren Waller, Carr has among the most talented array of weapons in the AFC.

"As far as expectations, I don't really have any," Adams said recently on "The Pivot Podcast." "But as far as goals, it's no surprise. You know what the deal is. Every team sets out with the same goal in the end. We obviously got that in our back pocket. And we got the roster to do something special like that. ... You know what's on my mind. So, that's what I'm here for. I didn't come here just to be cute and hang out with Derek and do all of that. I want to get that trophy at the end of the year."

The Raiders are scheduled to visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 11 in Week 1.
