Rapper Drake revealed he recently contracted COVID-19 and is now dealing with hair loss as a result.
The 34-year-old Canadian songwriter took time to explain this when a fan recently reposted a photo of him in the studio with an apparent faded heart etched on his hairline.
“That heart is stressed,” the fan captioned the photo on Tuesday along with a skull emoji and a laughing emoji.
But as it turned out, Drake saw the post and decided to post a comment on the fan's post to explain his side.
“I had COVID that s**t grew in weird I had to start again. it’s coming back don’t diss,” he wrote with a cry-laughing emoji.
In March, Drake said he tested negative for the virus after hanging out with NBA star Kevin Durant who tested positive for COVID-19, the same month.
The “Laugh Now Cry Later” artist shared the news with his father via Instagram Live, reported ET.
"Yeah, I had to get tested, but it came back negative," he said. "The test was uncomfortable though. They put that Q-tip all the way (points to his nose) in your thoughts and s**t."
In IG Live, Drake also shared some wise words for his fans, according to ET.
"It's like a moment in history that we won't probably get back again. A moment where you get to be by yourself or be with your loved ones and check in with people," he said. "It really makes you realize what kind of routine we get so accustomed to, where it starts to just coast and sail by. The days just start flying and flying, and now we have this thing that's making us want to call each other, be face-to-face, and show some love… I hope everybody just shows some love.”
Drake is not the only celebrity who had to deal with hair loss after getting infected with COVID-19.
“Charmed” actress Alyssa Milano also experienced “extreme hair loss” along with “brain fog” after getting the virus.
"It's hard, especially when you're an actor and so much of your identity is wrapped up in those things, like having long silky hair and clean skin," she told Dr. Mehmet Oz on an October 2020 episode of The Dr. Oz Show, ET reported. "Along with that also, I have the brain fog. Which, again, as an actress, as someone who has to memorize dialogue and be able to emote, and respond, and be on my toes, it's frightening."
She also posted a video on Twitter in August 2020 depicting the hair problem that she is facing as a side effect of COVID-19.
