Raven-Symoné ‘Ghetto Names’ Backlash: Will Actress Be Fired From ‘The View’ Over Racist Comment?
Raven-Symoné has found herself in hot water again for making controversial comments on "The View." As previously reported, viewers slammed the former Disney star on social media after she said on Friday's show she wouldn't hire someone who has a "ghetto" name.
Raven-Symoné has not yet responded to the backlash, but new reports suggest her future on the daytime talk show is in jeopardy.
According to the blog Media Take Out, producers told the 29-year-old actress she was going to be replaced on the ABC show because of the controversial comments. The site also claimed it's not clear if the former "That's So Raven" star will appear on Monday's show.
ABC has not responded to rumors Raven-Symoné will be fired, nor has the network commented on the criticism she's been receiving.
If it were up to the viewers, though, the actress would have already been axed from “The View.” One Twitter user posted, "Seriously, how do we go about getting @ravensymone fired from @TheView ? Enough is enough with her. Get her off the air. #ravenNeedsToGo." Another user wrote that the actress should be let go because of her "stupidity."

As reported on Friday, the actress’ comments came after Whoopi Goldberg mentioned a new study that found people judge others based on their names. Goldberg then introduced a video clip that showed two boys reciting the "most ghetto" names like "King’Kong’Quisha" and "Colla’Greeniqua."
After saying it wasn't racist to judge people for having "ghetto" names, Raven-Symoné told her co-hosts: "I’m very discriminatory against the words like the ones they were saying in those names. I’m not going to hire you if your name is Watermelon-Andrea. It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you.”
