Read Kendrick Lamar Fan Theory About Easter Album Release
Kendrick Lamar may have just released a new album, but fans of the “Alright” rapper believe he will be putting out another record on Sunday. According to a wild theory that is going around Twitter, fans believe the rapper’s latest album and songs point to another album dropping on Easter.
The theory begins with the album’s opening song, “Blood,” which apparently features Kendrick losing his life. Fans then point at the release date of “Damn” — Good Friday, the Friday before Jesus Christ was resurrected on Easter Sunday.
With the Good Friday theory in place, the next step is to look at the lyrics in “The Heart Part 4” — a track released before “Damn” came out — which feature Kendrick rapping, “I dropped one classic and I came right back.” While it's assumed the rapper was talking about his previous work, “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” and “To Pimp a Butterfly,” some believe the lyrics have to do with two new albums.
Adding to the theory is a tweet from the producer Sounwave who tweeted on Thursday, “But what if I told you… that’s not the official version.” The longtime collaborator of Kendrick Lamar then posted a photo of Morpheus from “The Matrix.” In the photo, you can see Morpheus holding one pill in each hand, like he offered Neo in the film.
The theory then starts getting even crazier when fans go back to the lyrics of “The Heart Part 4” and claim Kendrick made other references to another album. The theory even includes a name for the supposed album, claiming it will be called “Nation.”
While the theory is impressive, it could easily be the work of bored fans making up their own clues. Neither Kendrick Lamar nor any of his collaborators have commented on the possibility of a second album releasing this weekend.
