‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Season 7 Spoilers: Phaedra Refuses To Accept Cynthia's Apology; Kenya Digs Up Dirt On 'Mr. Chocolate' In Episode 17
This season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is getting juicier by the week. Last week viewers saw Phaedra Parks nearly come to blows with longtime enemy Kenya Moore after Kenya, a former Miss USA, backed Cynthia Bailey’s claims that Phaedra had been sleeping with an African man, now known only as "Mr. Chocolate." In Season 7, episode 16, which aired Sunday night, the Georgia peaches were left to clean up the mess – unfortunately, some of the relationships in the group, including that of Cynthia and Phaedra, simply may be too far gone.
After the stir she caused by bringing up the cheating allegations, Cynthia attempted to sit down with Phaedra to discuss what went down and get their friendship back on track. Though Bailey set the lunch up with the intent to apologize, things quickly went sour when she claimed she had “no malicious intent” in bringing up the rumors. Phaedra refused to hear any more and stormed out of the restaurant before the two could even order drinks.
“For you to say I’m sleeping around with someone and having an affair ... you obviously told your friend Kenya,” Phaedra said before exiting. “And you have made it into something that you did not fact-check.”
While everyone else was trying to put Mr. Chocolate in the past, Kenya continued to dig for dirt. During an event hosted by Cynthia's husband, Peter Thomas, Kenya tried to coax housewife Kandi Burruss into admitting she knew about Phaedra's alleged affair. Kandi stood by her friend, saying she never heard such a thing prior to the explosive dinner.
Meanwhile, new pals Porsha Williams and Phaedra sat down over lunch to discuss the fight in more detail. Both ladies laughed off the allegations multiple times throughout their meal, questioning where all these alleged African princes in Atlanta are coming from. While trying to get to the bottom of things, Porsha questioned Kandi’s loyalty to Phaedra, saying, “I felt like she could have been more vocal” during the initial fight.
“It’s at times like this where you really see who your true friends are,” Phaedra said.
NeNe Leakes and Porsha brought that point to Kandi’s attention following yet another tense sit-down cast dinner in episode 16. Grammy Award winner Kandi admitted to the ladies that she hasn’t been there for Phaedra as much as she could be recently because she's been consumed by her own drama. As viewers know, Kandi has been struggling to have a baby with husband Todd Tucker and make it through their first year of marriage.
Tune in Sunday to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo to see the housewives head to therapy in Season 7, episode 17.
