'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Stars Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker Expecting First Child Together
After several months of trying, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are expecting. The couple, who star on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," were very open about their attempts to get pregnant during Season 7 of the Bravo series. They tried multiple methods and it appears all that work finally paid off.
Kandi confirmed her pregnancy to E! News, telling them it was "a dream come true." The 39-year-old Grammy award winner told the site she and Todd were "thrilled" about their "family addition," as she often referred to it during "RHOA." The soon-to-be new parents aren't the only ones looking forward to the baby's birth. Todd told E! both his and Kandi's daughters from previous relationships, Kaela and Riley, are looking forward to having another sibling.
"Our daughters, Kaela and Riley, couldn't be happier about becoming big sisters," he said.
As we previously reported, the couple got serious about having a child in April. At the time, Kandi told E! that after going about it the old fashioned way for several months she had "started the process of in vitro." She claimed that she and Todd planned to utilize the time they had between filming "RHOA" and their forthcoming spinoff series, "Meet the Tuckers," to focus their attention on having a baby. It is unclear whether she got pregnant as a result of the IVF treatments or on their own.
The couple began trying for a child while filming Season 7 of "RHOA." The show picked up just six months after their April 2014 wedding. Kandi and Todd spent a majority of the season getting used to married life and trying to find time for one another amid their busy schedules. They fought often and eventually ended up in marriage counseling, which Todd was less than receptive to. Fortunately, they were able to get back on track and are still going strong.
Kandi has not yet revealed how far along she is or when the baby is due. She and Todd do not know the sex of their child at this time.
