'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' Star Yolanda Foster Jets To New York With Co-Stars For Global Lyme Alliance Gala
Yolanda Foster is still struggling with her Lyme disease battle, but she's not letting it hold her back. The former supermodel recently jetted to New York City for a gala to benefit the disease and she brought along a few of her "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-stars for the ride.
As was reported by People magazine, Kyle Richards, who joined Yolanda, 51, on her cross-country travels, uploaded a photo on Instagram from the comfort of their private jet. The picture showed her and the mother of three relaxing during their journey to the East Coast. Joining them on their flight were new cast members Erika Jayne and Kathryn Edwards. Kyle, 46, shared with her followers that they were "NYC Bound," but did not reveal the reason for their trip. People, however, reported that Yolanda brought the ladies along to attend the Global Lyme Alliance Gala. Her husband, David Foster, served as the co-chair for the function.
Yolanda's "RHOBH" cast mates have been a great support system throughout her diagnosis. In April they rallied together to complete an Instagram challenge dubbed Lyme Disease Challenge. Each of the "Real Housewives" posed with a lime in their mouths in an effort to bring awareness to the disease, which affects more than 300,000 people each year in the United States, according to statistics from the CDC.
Yolanda has spoken openly about her disease since being diagnosed in 2012. In January she shared with followers that, as a result of her ailment, she had lost the ability to read or write and struggled to take in visual stimuli, such as television. Still, she continues to seek out holistic treatment all over the world. She has jetted to Singapore, Germany and Mexico to undergo various types of therapy not offered in the U.S.
Despite her handicaps, Yolanda will continue to appear on "RHOBH" in Season 6. Bravo has not revealed when the show will return, but filming is thought to be underway.
