  • “Real Housewives of Dallas” is not coming back to Bravo in 2022
  • The network said “nothing official has been decided” as of late
  • The announcement comes after the show’s controversial fifth season

The future is uncertain for the cast of “The Real Housewives of Dallas” after Bravo announced that the show won’t be back for another season in 2022.

In an exclusive statement released via Deadline Tuesday, the network revealed that there are currently no plans for another season of the reality series for next year.

“There are currently no plans to bring ‘The Real Housewives of Dallas’ back next year, and beyond that, nothing official has been decided,” Bravo said.

The announcement leaves doubts on what could possibly come next for the show’s cast members Dr. Tiffany Moon, Brandi Redmond, Kary Brittingham, Stephanie Hollman, D’Andra Simmons and Kameron Westcott.

“RHOD” wrapped up Season 5 this year amid controversies involving some of the cast members’ racially insensitive actions toward Moon, who is Asian American, according to Fox News.

The 36-year-old board-certified anesthesiologist apparently called out Westcott’s husband, Court Westcott, and her brother-in-law, Chart Westcott, for being “racist.”

Additionally, another cast member, Redmond, came under fire after a video of her making fun of Asian people resurfaced online.

The issues forced Bravo to release a statement in defense of Moon amid the anti-Asian hate crimes being reported in the country.

“Bravo strongly supports the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Anti-Racism is, in fact, not a form of racism and the network stands by Dr. Tiffany Moon and her advocacy against racism and violence,” the network wrote on Twitter in May.

Despite the announcement that “RHOD” won’t be returning next year, it’s still highly likely for the show to come back. Only the “Real Housewives of D.C.” was officially canceled by Bravo after one season, according to Variety.

“RHOD” could be revived like “The Real Housewives of Miami,” which ended in 2013 after three seasons but is now coming back with a new installment via NBC Universal’s streaming service, Peacock.

Variety claimed that Bravo had already filmed some test footage with Moon, Simmons and three other women possibly for the next installment in the series. But the latest announcement from the network is a clear sign that the network has chosen to shelve its plans for the show for now.
