Is ‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Being Renewed? Karen Huger Confirms Season 2
Bravo shook things up this fall, announcing two new “Real Housewives” franchises — “Real Housewives of Dallas” and “Real Housewives of Potomac.” While many feared the fledgling shows would meet the same fate as newbies before them (RIP “Real Housewives of D.C.” and “Real Housewives of Miami”), viewers seem to be taken by the latest batches of “Housewives.”
“RHOP” premiered on Jan. 17, drawing in 2.54 million viewers according to Variety. The show continued to captivate audiences throughout the nine-episode season, which wrapped on April 4. With the reunion just one episode away from closing out the season, the six ladies received some exciting news from Bravo. According to a press release, tweeted by “RHOP” cast member Karen Huger, the show will be getting a second season.
Before the ladies of Potomac, Maryland — an affluent suburb of Washington, D.C. — can shift their focus to a new season they have to tie up loose ends from the pilot. During Part one of the Season 1 reunion host Andy Cohen brought forth some of the most pressing issues from the drama-packed season. Topics of discussion included the feud between Ashley Darby and Karen, Katie Prost’s insistence that Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon are biracial and the Prost Foundation founder’s brief engagement.
Previews for part two suggest that was just the tip of the iceberg. In a clip from the episode Katie and Gizelle are shown going at it over a story the socialite told during a girls trip in Bethany Beach, Delaware, in episode six about meeting a male suitor at a hotel. Gizelle recounted dressing up in sexy lingerie only to have a bathroom emergency upon arriving at the hotel. A viewer questioned Katie’s decision to “s--- shame” Gizelle, alleging that she and the gentleman had been having sex in the lobby of a hotel. Gizelle denies those claims which leads to a screaming match and a shocking revelation about Katie’s own bathroom mishap.
Part two of the “RHOP” reunion airs Sunday, April 17 at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
