Jana Kramer has filed for divorce from husband Mike Caussin after six years of marriage following one heartbreaking discovery, a report says.
On Wednesday, the "One Tree Hill" alum, 37, announced in an emotional Instagram post that she is splitting from Caussin, 34. An unnamed source told Us Weekly that Kramer thought "everything was fine" in their marriage, but uncovering "a recent infidelity" triggered her to flip a switch and prompted her to file for divorce.
"Jana’s final straw came when she uncovered once again that [Mike] had cheated on her," the source told the outlet.
Weeks before she filed for divorce, Kramer underwent a breast augmentation procedure, and the ex-NFL star helped "take care of her post-surgery," according to the source. Caussin was also there to look after their kids, daughter Jolie, 5, and son, Jace, 2.
"She didn’t know behind the scenes that he was continuously lying and cheating on her," the insider said.
Kramer and Caussin "went to couple's counseling every week" and were "actively working on their relationship" ahead of their split, the insider added.
"It was the exact pattern that’s happened numerous times [before]," the source continued.
The duo exchanged vows in 2015 and separated one year later after he cheated on her. Caussin underwent treatment for sex addiction before they reconciled and renewed their vows in 2017.
In the post announcing their split, the country singer said she "fought" for their marriage before finally calling it quits.
"'It's time' As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality," Kramer wrote on Instagram. "I've fought y'all. I've loved hard. I've forgiven. I've put the work in. I've given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give. 'It's time.'"
Kramer assured her fans that she still believes in love but explained that a person can't fight alone in a marriage. She also thanked everyone who supports her.
"Please know that I still believe whole heartedly in marriage, love, and rebuilding. I just fight any longer. It's time to heal. Thank you for all the love, heart, and support, in many ways you have fought on this journey alongside me, and for that I am grateful. I'll always encourage you to continue the good fight, but you can't fight it alone," she concluded.
