Justin Bieber is finally explaining why he challenged Tom Cruise to a duel in the octagon. After posting a Tweet on Sunday that called out the “Mission Impossible” actor if he didn’t “take the fight,” Bieber has seemed to come to senses, possibly after the internet uproar he created.

The tweet from Bieber challenging Cruise to the competition, read, "I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight?"

There was no explanation or reasoning behind the tweet at the time, which Bieber now says was just a joke. Bieber told TMZ, “The story is, I (saw) an interview with him, and it was just on my mind. I don't know why I thought about... It was just a random tweet. I do that stuff sometimes.”

Bieber seemed to have a sense a humor about the whole incident and even gave Cruise credit for his ability to win the fight when he told TMZ that the actor would "probably whoop my [expletive] in a fight.”

Bieber also went on to tell the news outlet that he was “really skinny” compared to Cruise, who would most likely “be out of my weight class” because he has “that dad strength.” Cruise, who is 56 years old, performs many of his own stunts for the “Mission Impossible” movies and was an all-state wrestler in high school.

On Monday, Conor McGregor said he would host the fight between Bieber and Cruise, and that he would also put up a match with Mark Wahlberg and himself to sweeten the deal.
